Privacy notice

This website collects public testimonies about the social value of archives. Below we explain what personal data we process and how you can request removal of a contribution.

Who is responsible?

Postal address for correspondence: Liberas, Kramersplein 23, 9000 Gent, België. For privacy questions and reports, email christoph.despiegeleer@liberas.eu.

What information do we collect?

When you post a testimony, we process your name, any role and organisation you provide, the text of your testimony and its publication date.

Why do we process this information?

We use the information you provide to publish your testimony under your name. We ask for your explicit consent through the submission form. You may withdraw that consent later; withdrawal does not retrospectively invalidate earlier lawful processing.

Who can see your testimony?

Your name, optional role and organisation, and testimony become public immediately upon submission. Third parties, including search engines, may view, copy or share them. The administrator can remove a contribution from this website but cannot guarantee the removal of copies elsewhere.

Request correction or removal

To correct or remove your contribution, or report inappropriate content, email christoph.despiegeleer@liberas.eu or write to Liberas, Kramersplein 23, 9000 Gent, België. Include your name and part of the relevant testimony. Each testimony also has a “Report this contribution”. The administrator can remove reported contributions from the website.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, and withdraw consent. You may also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority at gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit.be.

Optional email address

You may provide an email address so the administrator can contact you about your testimonial. This is optional and based on your consent. Campaign updates will only be sent if you separately tick the updates box; it is not selected by default. We record your choice and the date of consent. Your email address is stored separately from public testimonials and is accessible only to the administrator and the technical service providers needed to operate the service (Supabase). It is not published or returned by the public testimonial API.

You can withdraw consent or request deletion of your email address at any time by emailing christoph.despiegeleer@liberas.eu, without having your testimonial removed. Contact details are retained only as long as needed for the stated purposes. When a testimonial is deleted, its linked contact details are also deleted. Email addresses are not part of the public archive of testimonials.
